It is with sorrow that I learned of Walter's passing from my Red Deer, Alberta desktop. In my years coming of age along "The Shore Road", Walter was a common community fixture. Whether it be at events at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in St. Francis Harbour, or at the former Seven Communities Volunteer Fire Department Hall in Hadleyville, where I would be tagging along with my dad Joe, Walter was usually among those in attendance. Walter was always open to conversations and seemed to project a positive outlook on any events of the day and always treated others with respect. Otherwise, one usually saw Walter daily, driving along Route 344 in his MT&T vehicle, seemingly at any hour of any day!
The Christmas season is a celebration of Christ’s birth. It is hoped that Walter’s family and friends shall be able to gather and to celebrate Walter and share in the memories and recollections that Walter leaves behind with us all. May Walter rest in peace. God bless.

My deepest sympathy to all of Walter's family! We worked together for many years. Walter's dry wit put many a smile on his co-workers face! A special condolance to Pat and my old friend Alex, all part of our MT&T family! May he rest in peace!
