BURKE, Elizabeth "Bertha" - Age 92, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 9, 2024. Bertha was born in Sampsonville on April 29, 1932, to the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Sampson) Carter. 

Bertha leaves to mourn her brother, Lin (Dolly) Carter; sister, Melinda (Dan) Fougere; sister-in-law, Doris Carter; her thirteen children, Diane (Paul) Larade, Louis (Helena), Vernon (Raymonde), Lonnie (Kelly), Julie (Robert) MacDonald, Helen (Junior) Stone, Karen (David) Campbell, Cynthia (Lester) Fougere, Timmy (Jenny), Jillian (Roy) Poirier, Robert (Linda), Kelly (Joan) and Lorne (Tracie). She was a fabulous Nan to 38 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 2 great - great grandchildren, dishing out her many bowls of ice cream.

Bertha was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter; precious daughter, Lesa; brothers, Anthony (Margaret) Carter; Charlie (Lila) Carter; George (Genevieve) Carter; Cliffy (Shirley) Carter; Fin Carter; Bert Carter; sisters, Marie (Francis) Burke; Beatrice (Rennie) Burke and Mabel Carter.

Bertha was a devout Catholic. Bertha will be fondly remembered for her amazing hugs, quick wit, hot cup of tea, a mean game of cards, threatnening weekly to rip up the Ace of Hearts and hating to lose at bingo!

There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter's with Father John Yake officiating.
