I first met my cousin Beatrice in 2012 when we visited Guysborough to see where my grandparents had grown up. I didn’t know I still had family in NS. Beatrice welcomed us into her home and I felt like family right away. We spent a lovely afternoon talking about my grandfather Lew, her favourite uncle. She and Don took up to the old Spanks homestead in Cooks Cove. Ever since that first meeting, I’ve kept in touch with Beatrice and we visited her and Don again in 2016. I always wanted to go back again to spend more time with her. We’ve lost a beautiful soul. Don, I can only imagine your grief. To her children and grandchildren, you were so blessed to have her for your mama and grandma. My sincere condolences. I’ve met Arnold & Celine and Linda. Maybe one day I’ll meet the rest of you.
