Obituary of Margaret Ann Jardine

JARDINE, Margaret Ann “Peggy” – Age 76, Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in the Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Colin Francis and Katie Bell (Cameron) MacDonald.

Peggy worked for a number of years as a custodian for Stora Forest Industries in Point Tupper, where over the years she made many friends. Peggy enjoyed time with family and friends. For the last number of years, she was a resident of The Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s.

Surviving are her sons, B.J. Robinson, Port Hawkesbury; George and his wife Darlene Robinson, Hamilton, ON; stepsons, Darryl Jardine and Wesley Jardine; stepdaughter, Charlene (Jardine) Kehoe; sisters, Jeanette Ross, West Bay Road; Hughena Brewer, Halifax; brothers, John “The Twin” (Anna) MacDonald, Joe (Irene) MacDonald, all of West Bay Road; sister-in-law, Alice MacDonald, West Bay Road; grandchildren, Jenna Drotar, A.J. Clark, Alexa Clark and Chance MacPherson, all from Ontario.

She was predeceased by her second husband, Bill Jardine; stepdaughter, Cheryl (Noseworthy) Marchant;  brothers, Tommy MacDonald and Hughie “The Twin” MacDonald; sister, Mary Siegfried.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, West Bay Road with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
