To Michael, Brian, Kevin and family.
Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Harold.
We first met Harold, Mary, and 3 small boys, some 57 years ago in Cole Harbour where we lived at the time,
when Harold arrived for lobster fishing season.
Harold and I subsequently longlined together for a number of years, once surviving a fierce southerly, while fishing for hake , on Emerald Bank.
Nancy and I moved to Canso in 1973. On a cold spring night thereafter, our house caught fire and burned to the ground. We will forever grateful for the kindness of Harold, Mary, and the boys who took us in. Two adults, 2 small children, 2 large dogs, and cared for us until we found other accomodations.
So....farewell Harold....good man, good friend, good neighbor, good shipmate.
We are deeply saddened at Harold's passing and will always remember him with great affection.
David and Nancy Schandall and family.
