To all of Johnnies' family, children, brothers' & sisters and every one else, please accept my sincere condolenses on his sudden passing. I will never forget him as when one of my daughters was about three years old, she fell in a well and Johnnie saved her from drowning. Only for him I wouldn't have my daughter today, may he rest in peace. You are all in my prayers and thoughts. With deep sympathy, Joan MacIntyre (Ryan )

My condolences to Johnny's family and friends. My late husband Jim, remembered working with Johnny, pumping gas at one of the local garages when they were younger. Only for a short time - I think there was a motorcycle mishap that led to their downfall. RIP Johnny

Our most Sincere Condolences to the Ryan family. I grew up with John, remembering the younger years at school. I wasn’t a close friend but I knew him. He did a lot of painting for my brother Dave, and there were days I’d drive him home after work. He was a very humble man and a very hard worker. John, I hope you are out of your pain….Rest in Peace…
Paula (Ryan) Maclachlan and Family.

I knew 'Johnny Peanut Butter' since before he got his nickname. I went to elementary school with him and yes, he loved peanut butter sandwiches. Not PB and Jam, just PB. He was always nice and treated everyone well.He enjoyed the outdoors when we were kids. Port Hawkesbury didn't have many residents back then, less than 400 I believe so we lost another 'local'. Rest In Peace John. You will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Johnny’s family and friends.
The first time I ever met Johnny was 24 years ago. Since I’m from Arichat he would always call me “Frenchy” he would never call me by my name it was always Frenchy and it stuck with him. He never forgot the name he gave me even being away for years, as soon as he would see me he’d say “ Hey frenchy how are you?” I’d just look at him shake my head, and he’d say “oh come on Frenchy don’t be like that.
That’s one memory I won’t forget.
May he be at peace.
