I was saddened to learn of Leonard's passing when communicating with Chris earlier this week. My Mom had told me that He was ill and in the hospital, but his death was still unexpected. I know that the lose of one's Father can be a time of sorrow, personal reflection, and of evaluation for those who were closest to Him. Having grown up on The Shore Road, being in the same age grouping as some of He and Valerie's children, and also having a father (Joe) who worked at "The Mill", I had occasional interactions with Leonard over the years. He seemed to me to be a quiet man, with a hidden sense of humor he shared when the time was right. My most vivid memory of Leonard, however, was watching him playing hockey on the Burnt Barrens, quite a few years ago now. While I had the joy of skating with my own Dad on the frozen ponds of my youth, I never had the privileged to watch Joe manage a hockey puck with His stick and take a shot on goal, as I watched Leonard do on that frozen pond many years ago. It was only one afternoon in time, yet the skill of His stride and the sharpness of His shots remains in my memories to this day. I pray that You all were able to say Your goodbyes, and that when the time is right, You all will be able to gather and celebrate the happy memories Leonard leaves behind with You all. May he rest in peace. God Bless. Sean
