On behalf of my late parents, Captain Gordon and Mrs.Jean MacDonald, I send my most sincere condolences. Father left his heart in Cape Breton when he joined the Highlanders in 1939. My sister and I enjoyed the many reminisces with which he regaled us, having to do with terrific people like YOUR Mr. MacDonald. My sincere condolences to all of Earl's family and close friends. I have not been in contact with Earl for many years but as a young boy from Alba I best remember Earl as a cheerful Operator at the Orangedale Station. My father used to take cream cans to the Orangedale Station to go on the overnight express to a dairy in Truro (I believe) and Earl was often working the evening shift and greeted everyone with a smile and some good story. He will be greatly missed by the community.
