Valeria Ann Bouchie

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Valeria Ann Bouchie, age 88 of Little Dover at Eastern Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

She was born in Little Dover on December 17, 1935, to Daniel and Annie (Harnish) Munroe, and was a member of St. Agnes Parish.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Charles Ryan), Hazel Hill; brother, Lawrence; she was predeceased her husband, of 62 years, Martin Basil Bouchie; by brothers, Alonzo, Kenny, Garfield, Tommy, Lloyd, Lauchie, Ernie, Frank; sisters, Ada and Marie.

Mom was mostly a stay-at-home mother, but she did work at the Little Dover Co-op in her early years. She taught religion, served on parish council and was a member of the Dover Crafters. She liked to knit, crochet, make quilts, do puzzles and was an avid reader thanks to the library. She was a gentle person who never complained once through all her battles with her health over the years.

I know she is happy she doesn’t have to cook or clean anymore. If there is music around, she will be there and when the music is over, if someone wants to play cards, she will be ready. We will miss you more than anything.

I would like to thank the nurses, Dr’s, CCA’s Shirley and Rose, specials workers, Shelia and Monique who went above and beyond to give her great care, kindness and laughs during her stay. Also, her neighbor Jimmy for everything. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17 from 9-10:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Parish Hall, Little Dover and from where the funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Following the burial a reception will be held in the parish hall.
