Obituary of Elizabeth 'Liz' Margaret Dunphy

Dunphy, Elizabeth "Liz" Margaret – Age 44, of Petit de Grat, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Nancy and Carl Dunphy.

Elizabeth was a kind, loving, caring woman. For those who knew Elizabeth, she was one of a kind. She loved plants, doing housework and yard work and spending time with family and friends. Elizabeth had a strong love for animals, especially her fur baby Sara or as we called her, “Sara Bones”.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Nancy and Carl and her half-sister, Amanda. She is survived by her children, Robert (Sydney), Jessica (Sydney), Cassidy (Sydney); brothers, Carl (Port Hawkesbury), Charles (Truro), Timmy (Sydney), Cory (Truro); half-sisters, Penelope (Windsor), Christina (Sydney) and special friend and sister-in-law, Ashaunti (Ash) States. Elizabeth is also survived by a special friend of 18 years, Thomas “Tom” Richard and another long-time friend, Scott Richard, special friend Samantha “Sam” and many other friends and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was more than just Elizbeth’s landlord; Tom was her best friend – or as she put it “partner is crime”. Tom did everything for Elizabeth for the last 18 years of her life; from taking her to appointments, shopping, to get coffees and taught her things she would never forget. Elizabeth was the sweetest, kindest soul, she always asked how our kids, Scott and I were doing. She always went out of her way to ask if we needed help or how we were doing. Her memory will always be with us. She will forever have a very special place in our hearts. We miss you Liz.

There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place in Springhill Junction at a later date. Donations in memory of Elizabeth can be made to the Diabetes Foundation or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
