Obituary of Gerald Joseph Boudreau
BOUDREAU, Joseph Gerald, Petit de Grat,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved father, pépé, brother, and uncle, Gerald Boudreau, of Petit de Grat, who passed away at the St. Anne Center on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Born November 10, 1938, in Arichat, he was the son of the late David Leo “Davie” and Mary Elizabeth “Lillie” Boudreau.
Gerald was a generous and loved member of the community, appreciated for his volunteer work with Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph’s Church choir playing his guitar. He had impressive careers as a first responder, embalmer, and funeral director. Gerald is fondly remembered for his witty sense of humour and his entertaining performances as Cousin Zeke. He was always very generous with his time spent with members of his community, his family, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Michelle (Mike) Scott, Evy Landry, and Beckey (Neil) Landry; grand children Shauna (John) Doolan, Renée (Martin) Stewart, Tyler (Madison) Scott, Ryan (Shuqi) Shannon, Mikala (Wesley) Boudreau, Nikolas Boudreau, Kathryn Landry, and Julia (Brandon) Landry; sisters Margaret (Sandy) McConnell, Delia (Vincent) Benoit, Claire Marchand, and Vivian (Eddy) Fougere as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Margaret, son Michael; brothers Amedee, Rudolph, Aloysius, and Danny in infancy; sister Betty, and beloved dog Spike.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his care team at the St. Anne Center, as well as those who helped care for him at home, Gayle, Colleen, Anna, Krysta, the VON home support team, and his team of nurses for their much appreciated support.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A funeral mass to Celebrate the Life of Gerald will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Petit de Grat, with Father Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial will take place in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the Isle Madame Food Bank or a charity of your choosing.
