Obituary of Moira A. Keeping
Keeping (Meagher), Moira Annette
Moira Annette Keeping passed away peacefully at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in her 89th year. Moira was born in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia, and was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Carr) Meagher.
After her mother’s passing, Moira was raised by her grandparents, Hebbert and Sarah (Power) Carr, and she spoke of them fondly each and every day. She cherished the view from her home in Pirate Harbour located on the family property. Even in difficult circumstances, Moira’s resilience carried her through her life. Moira treasured spending time with family and friends over a cup of tea. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to laugh. Moira was an avid reader and was fortunate to have had many opportunities to share her passion for reading with others as she travelled eastern Nova Scotia on the Eastern Counties Regional Library Bookmobile until her retirement.
Moira loved and was loved by many. She will be dearly missed.
Moira is survived by her son, Kevin (Andrea), of Lantz; granddaughter, Sarah (Peter), of Dartmouth, her pride and joy; siblings, Kilmer (Janet) Meagher, Port Hawkesbury, and Sharon (Harold) Beals, Halifax. She is also survived by many neices and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Besides her parents and grandparents, she was predeceased by her son, Michael; brothers, Kevin (Bobbi) Meagher, Terrence Meagher, and Gary (Adair) Meagher.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes, Port Hawkesbury. Internment of the cremated remains will be in the St. Lawrence Parish Cemetery on November 23, 2024 at 11:45 am, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating.
