It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maria Katharina Mueller which occurred Tuesday, October 22nd at MacKenzie Point Road.

Maria was a daughter of Clara Nietz, born in Flinkow, Germany on January 16, 1943. Although she frequently travelled, she fell in love with Cape Breton Island and it held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially if it involved fishing. She enjoyed her time working as a teacher, inspiring many students during her career. She is survived by her daughter Catherin and special grandson, Rian.

In keeping with Maria’s wishes there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 31st at 2p.m. in the West Bay United Church. Memorial donations may be made to a Lupus Canada (www.lupuscanada.org) or a charity of one’s choice.
