Obituary of Ronnie Joseph Larade

Please share a memory of Ronnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

LARADE, Ronnie Joseph - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ronnie Joseph Larade, age 64 of French Cove, Cape Breton, NS.

Born in Cheticamp in 1960, Ronnie had fond memories of growing up as the youngest of 21 children in his close-knit French Acadian fishing community. Although he lived in Toronto for over 20 years, and later retired to the community of French Cove, Cheticamp was always the home of his heart.

Ronnie's family meant the world to him. He leaves behind his loving wife, Evey Lewis; children, Chris (Lisa) and Mike (Jessie). Ronnie's grandchildren were his heart; he will be missed greatly by Avery, Jacob, Isaac and Blake.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Annette, Yvette (Paul), Madeleine (Joey), Freda (Todd); sisters-in-law, Lucy (Ken), and Myla; brothers-in-law, Robin (Susan), Eric; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Frederick and Eulalie Larade, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jules, Pierre Louis, Robert, Napoleon and Roger; his sisters, Lorraine, Marguerite Marie, Marie Ediana and Marie Louise  and  Marie Adele.

Ronnie had a generous spirit and a warth that drew others to him. He was cherished by a large circle of dear friends both in Ontario and Nova Scotia who brought joy and comfort throughout his life. Ronnie made a lasting impact on both family and friends alike.

Ronnie was well known for his love of the Boston Bruins and avidly watched their games. The only thing he liked more than when Boston won, was when they won against the Montreal Canadiens. He loved the music of George Jones and was known to break into a rendition of "He Stopped Loving Her Today" at every opportunity.

Cremation has taken place and funeral service will occur on Sunday, September 29 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Cheticamp Funeral Home. We welcome both family and friends to join us in honouring and celebrating Ronnie's life. A private burial will proceed this service (immediate family members only).

For those unable to attend in person, the family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation in Ronnie's name. Condolences may be sent to www.cheticampfuneralservices.ca or to www.haverstocks.com

Who’s gonna fil their shoes?

Who’s gonna stand that tall?

Whos’ gonna play the Opry

And the Wabash cannonball?

Who’s gonna give their heart and soul

To get to me and you?

Lord, I wonder who’s gonna fill their shoes
