Q: What will you miss most about Harold?
A: I will miss my phone calls from Francis as he travelled the highways of Atlantic Canada to Quebec and back. I always enjoyed hearing where he was trucking too today or what he was hauling. Francis was a wonderful friend who always checked in on you, sent you a positive message or kind words. We have had a life long friendship I will be forever grateful for. RIP my friend, you will never be forgotten when the dance floor is rocking!

Carrie Beth, Aubrey and families,
Canso and area have certainly lost a great worker in Francis. He was a great husband, brother, friend and tireless worker for his community. Always one who loved a story, his chats will be missed. He was always encouraging when situations came up and would help out wherever he could. He was a fine neighbour to me in my time next door. Francis will be missed. Remember all the good times you had with him and know that he has no pain now. May Francis rest in peace and rise in glory.

Carrie-Beth, Aubrey, Anna, Elizabeth, Dean and Roberta and your families, I’m so sorry for your loss. There are no words. Francis meant the world to me, all the way back to him tagging along with Mable and Roberta to our highland dancing competitions as kids.
In high school Francis had a larger than life presence, and sure made our grade 12 trip to Ottawa and Toronto a memorable one.
Francis loved to drive and I don’t think there was any place too far for him. When I accepted a job here in Ottawa, Francis was the one who offered to drive with me so I didn’t have to do it alone. Since moving here I’ve enjoyed meeting up with him during my trips home. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew him.

Dearest Carrie: My heart and soul has sank when I read that Francis passed away, a deep shock. I met Francis in Guys Hospital same room as me. Because of Francis I survived my stay that was lonely there until Francis came along. His wit, love to talk, his great smile helped me throughout a terrible time. Carrie you were such an inspiration to me. Thank you for all you both did for me, and the gifts you gave me when I was released. Glad I was able to make you both laugh. Margie MacDonald - St. Andrews, Antigonish Co. He will always be with you Carrie, he LOVED you so much.

Dear Carrie Beth, Aubrey, Dean and Families. We are so sorry to hear of Francis passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this time of sorrow. Francis was a very kind, outgoing person. I will never forget the day he pulled our car out of the ditch coming from Half Island Cove. We hit a soft shoulder when we pulled over to get something. Francis was the good samaritan who came to our rescue. God love him. He will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, my friend.

Francis and I spend many summers "growing up together" at our Grandfathers home in Halfway Cove. I have fond memories of his spunk and Georgeness... we both had it. Sadly we lost touch in our later years but always connected when I went "down home" for a visit. So sad my condolences to Uncle Aubrey and Carrie Beth and their families.

To the family...
It seems surreal that I am writing words of comfort to all today. I hadn't realized Francis had leukemia...
I will always remember Francis for his robust laughter and his ability to swing me around the dance floor at the Queensport Firehall Dances.
Even though I haven't seen him on a regular basis, as I moved to Timberlea, whenever I was down the shore we would pick right up where we left off. He was never short on words!
There are not enough words to convey my sadness....
May the good Lord comfort you all, especially Aub., and wrap his arms around you in the time of loss. Until we meet again...❤
