Marlaine Frances Boudreau (Jackson)

February 1, 1947- September 3, 2024

Marlaine Frances Boudreau (Jackson) entered this world on February 1, 1947, to proud parents, Marie and Bill Jackson. Marlaine was a strong and steady presence in the lives of those she loved until God called her home on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, to be reunited with her loving Husband Vernon; Son Billy; Grandson Ian and Sister Gladys.

Marlaine was a force to be reckoned with and the biggest advocate of her large family, especially her eldest granddaughters who could do no wrong (Of course this means Ashley and Jessie). She loved company, so she could share a cup of tea and conversation.

Mom was lucky enough to find love twice in her life with Gus MacDonald, who stuck by her side in sickness and in health. He gave her a purpose to fight after her diagnosis with cancer, and kept the sparkle in her eyes. Papa Gus our gratitude and love are endlessly for all you have done.

When we close our eyes and think of the most familiar comfort we will think of the love, kindness and strength that was you. Thank you for holding an infinite amount of space for us in your heart Mom, every day we will continue to make choices to serve you proud. On the days we are struggling with your absence we will remember the many ways in which you loved us and take comfort in a familiar song on the radio, or an old familiar smell to that reminds us you are near.

Our family will love you forever, your loving daughter, Janice (Sid); sons, Brad (Lisa), Brian (Lauralee), Vernon (Nicole); Grandchildren, Ashley (Adam), Jessica, Shelby, Dillen (Nicole), Gregory (Marsha), Taylor (Meghan) Alex, Marcus, Zachery (Nicole) Kiersten, and Billy-Jo; Great Grandchildren, Tyree, Treyvon, Aaliyah, Jordon, Jayden, Bane, Koal, Ellie, Dawson, Sophia and Jaxson. Marlaine’s extended family; Partner, Gus MacDonald and his children and spouses, Colleen (JP) Kevin (Rhonda), Karen (Steve), Kathy (Darryl), Keith (Marsha), Kara (Phillip), and Shane (Candice).

Marlaine is survived by sisters, Karen (Wilson), Shirley (Fred), Connie (Kevin), and brothers, Howard (Winnie), Fred (Monique), Nathan and brother-in-law Henry; many nieces and nephews along with loving Husband Vernon’s family.

Marlaine was predeceased by Sister-in-Law Theresa (Fred) and brother-in-law Gerard (Karen), as well as many other loved ones.

Our family would like to send a special thank you to all the staff at the Guysborough Memorial Hospital, especially Dr Abboud, Dr. McCormick, nurses Pam and Allison who took exceptional care of Mom during her recent visits.

Until we meet again Mom

When you reach the gates of heaven may you be wrapped in a warm embrace of our family, that have gone before you, who we think of often, just as we will think of you.

Play some George Jones loud enough that we can hear, and give Dad, Billy, and Ian a big hug for us.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso, NS on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A family Graveside burial will take place Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. in  Star of the Sea Parish Cemetery.
