Obituary of Duncan Roddie Chisholm
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Duncan Roddie Chisholm, 17, of Melford, NS on Saturday, July 20 in Mabou, NS. Duncan was born on September 14, 2006, in Antigonish, NS.
He is survived by his mother, Maxine Chisholm of Melford; his father, Rodney Chisholm of Askilton; stepfather, Jamie Boudreau of Melford; grandparents, Jean and Jerome MacDonald of Lower South River; aunt, Tracey MacDonald of Whycocomagh; uncle, Chris MacDonald of Antigonish; cousins, Michelle Jamieson (Dawson) of New Glasgow, Ellisa MacDonald of Little Narrows, Haven and Dallas Jamieson of New Glasgow; grandparents, Martin (Brenda Crowdis) of Newtown and Joan MacEachern of Port Hawkesbury. Duncan was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Duncan James MacDonald.
We would like to thank the first responders and a special thank you to the Mabou Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the RCMP officers that came to our families’ homes to provide comfort and compassion. To our community, friends and the communities in the surrounding area, we thank you for the love and support; it is what is giving us the strength to help us through this incredibly sad time.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 27 from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 12 Main Street, Whycocomagh. A celebration of life will take place Sunday, July 28 at 1 p.m. at the Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department, 9519 Hwy 105, Whycocomagh. Donations in Duncan’s memory can be made to the Mabou Volunteer Fire Department or the Whycocomagh Education Centre Breakfast Program.
