Obituary of Enos Patrick Richard

Richard, Enos Patrick- Age 85, Canso, NS passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Canso, he was the eldest son of the late John and Annie (Snow) Richard.

Enos was a member of the Star of the Sea Parish, Canso and the Shamrock Club. He was a devout and highly respected mandolin player and attended many bluegrass festivals and concerts throughout the maritimes. He also played Cape Breton style fiddle music.

He is survived by daughters: Bonnie (Walter), Angela (David), all of Canso; sons, Brian (Michele), Half Island Cove, Derek, Middle Sackville; grandchildren: Katelyn, Kerry, Kaleigh, Abbey, Hanna, Sophia; great grandchildren: Sloane, Ruby, Maeve; sister, Sharon (Cathy); brothers, Jim (Kathy), Bill (Brenda); and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Enos was predeceased by his wife, Anita (2019); his sisters, Dot and Shirley.

Visitation will be 2-9 pm on Friday, July 5 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 12 pm Saturday, July 6 in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetary. Memorial donations in memory of Enos may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital Foundation or Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund.  Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
