Evan David Briggs
December 13, 1991 – June 15, 2024
With broken hearts, we write for our son Evan, who we loved dearly. He was the youngest by a minute to his twin brother, Andrew.
Evan loved his girls, MacKenzie and Violet with all his heart and cherished every moment spent with them and loved being a father. He was a hard worker and loved every job that let him drive a truck.
Evan was a sweet, kind young man and will be remembered as always willing to help others, especially family and well pretty much anybody that needed help.
Evan joined the Canadian Armed Forces straight out of high school and served three years before leaving to care for his newborn daughter and be close to home to help raise her. He went to college in Sydney to study welding. His real passion and what he looked for in every job was a chance to drive trucks, especially the big yellow boom truck and shine up the rims.
He leaves behind his mother Cheryl and father Mike, his twin brother Andrew and his son Austin, his older brother Adam (Meaghan), his daughter MacKenzie and mother Keisha, his daughter Violet and mother Shelby and her son Hudson who he cared for as if he was his own son. His paternal grandfather David Briggs, his maternal grandmother Matilda MacGregor, his aunt Fiona and his uncle Charles King, his uncle Steve (Eva) and their children Emily, Hannah and Ben. His cousins Spencer MacGregor (Kylie) and Bella MacGregor. His Great Aunts Judy Hill, Edinburgh, Scotland and Mary Hope Fraser, Pleasant Bay.
He was predeceased by his paternal Grandmother Joan Briggs, maternal Grandfather Alex MacGregor. His cousin who was like a sister Niki King. His uncle Sandy MacGregor. Also his beloved dogs who left with him Jeffrey and Harper.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, from 2-7p.m. on Thursday, June 20. Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, June 21 in St. Mark's United Church, 506 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Jim MacNaughton officiating.
