Sincere condolences to all the family on the loss of an honourable husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and colleague.
Growing up in Black River, the arrival of cousins from Port Hawkesbury NS to Grampie & Grammie Fowlie’s always initiated excitement amongst the Watling family. It would usually be a summer time visit, which meant loads of outdoor fun with playmates from far away; boys vs girls in some variation of the game tag or capture the flag, played with Uncle Teddy’s clan as well.
I remember a picnic lunch on the shore of the river down the lane; Uncle Ingram spread a slice of bread with peanut butter for me, passed it over and I promptly dropped it, peanut butter side down on the sand. As a child who didn’t like to make mistakes I remember looking to Uncle Ingram, perhaps wondering if I would be reprimanded, but instead he laughed at the mishap and encouraged me to see the funny side. He was kind and gentle and an encourager of others.
I don’t know the back story of how Deborah and Wayne came up with the idea to cycle from Port Hawkesbury to Black River but they did that one summer. Impressive! However, just as amazing to me at that young age was the wonder that their Father (and Mother) allowed, and we indeed supported such an adventure.
Extended family meals at G&G Fowlie’s were boisterous and wonderful. Such happy memories. The amount of laughter and playful teasing from the “adult table” in the kitchen spoke volumes about the love of family into my heart. Uncle Ingram was an important part of that. His shared childhood with both Mom and Dad has reminded me that childhood relationships that grow into adulthood are especially precious.
I’m sure he will be missed by many, including myself.
I am thankful he was my Uncle.
Hugs to you all, Susan

Port Hawkesbury has lost a wonderful man. Ingram Fowlie was always friendly, always interested in knowing how you were feeling, forever kind. I have missed and will continue to miss seeing him having lunch with Connie or Kevin in one restaurant or another in town. He always took time to stop and say hello with his usual big smile. Rest in peace, Ingram. You have brightened many a day.

Connie and all the family,
We were so sad to hear about Ingram. The Fowleys and the Noseworthy’s were two families that took up most of a seat each at St. Mark’s United Church. Ingram was always a quiet man with a big smile and a kind word. Family and church meant everything to Ingram, he will be dearly missed.
Our sincere condolences to all the family.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all Ingram's family. He was a wonderful, kind, community minded man and totally devoted to his family and church. I have fond memories of the entire family attending various church functions, singing in the choir with Connie and of course we both worked at the mill with Ingram. He was a very special man and his passing is a loss to all who knew and loved him.
