Obituary of Kimmie Beryl MacDonald

Please share a memory of Kimmie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MacDonald, Kimmie Beryl – Troy, NS.  Our hearts are broken to have to share the loss of our beautiful Kimmie, at home, after a short illness on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of Beryl (Langley) and the late Carl MacDonald.  She was predeceased by her only child, Shelby in a tragic car accident at the age of 17 and was devastated by this sad event.  She was also predeceased by her stepfather Donald MacLeod.

Kimmie is survived by her 3 brothers, Bobby (Kelly) and their children, Carl, Dylan and Brooke; Gary (Shelley), Lennie and Jessie; Dale (Leeann), Ally and Ryan, and special stepsister, Cathy MacLeod. She is also survived by her partner of the last 16 years, Andrew Archibald, his son, Ethan and also her cat Kittee will miss her cuddles.

Kimmie had a great sense of humour and loved to make others laugh.  She was kind and would go out of her way to make someone’s day special.

She and Andrew spent 8 years in Moose Jaw, SK, where she was employed by SEIU.  They returned to Cape Breton in 2022 and were living in Troy for the last year, where she enjoyed watching the water and the sunsets.

We would like to thank her good friend Vickey Baker for her friendship and support, as well as her Palliative care support team and to Margie MacIntyre for her guidance.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2 from 1 – 4 p.m. followed by a funeral service with Margie MacIntyre LLWL officiating.  Luncheon to follow all held in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.

Memorial donations may be made to Forget Me Not Animal Rescue or a charity of your choice.  Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
