Obituary of Anna Marie Haines

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

HAINES, Anna Marie - Age 74 of Little Dover, Guysborough County.  It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing mother, wife, grandmother and sister on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.

Anna was born in Little Dover where she lived all her life.  She was the daughter of Norman and Mary (Harnish) Bouchie. Anna worked at the Canso Fish Plant for many years where she was known as the "talker" and the one to always make you laugh.  She was a devoted wife and mother who wanted nothing but the best for her family.  She was always there to lend a helping hand if need be, by making sandwiches or sweets for many baby showers and weddings.  She loved baking and making her famous carrot cake for her visits with her grandchildern who absolutely loved it.  She loved going for drives, shopping, doing her puzzle books and having a chat when she bumped into an old friend.

Anna is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Manzer Haines. Daughter Juanita (Gary) Osborne, Halifax, Grandsons Justin and Alex Osborne. Son Donnie (Jamie) Haines, Little Dover. Sisters Edie (Tommy) Keefe, Little Dover; Sheila (Frances) Rhynold, Little Dover; Beverly (James) Henry, Canso; Genesta Munroe, Little Dover.  Brothers Jimmy (Kim) Bouchie, Little Dover; Ronnie (Joyce) Bouchie, Little Dover; Tommy (Colleen) Bouchie, Canso; Dave (Susan) Bouchie, Little Dover; Brian (Melinda) Bouchie, Canso. Brother in law Cletus Boudreau, Little Dover and many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Norman Bouchie, sister, Lorraine (Bouchie) Boudreau, and brother in law, Frank Munroe.

Special thanks to the Eastern Memorial Hospital for taking such good care of her over the years. Anna spent a lot of time at the hospital and appreciated everything that was done for her, she thought the world of the doctors, nurses and staff.

Cremation has taken place.  Burial will take place at a later date.
