NEWELL, Frederick Allison "Al" - Age 82, Canso, Guysborough Co., passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso he was the son of the late Harry and Blanche (Bond) Newell.

Al truly loved going to his camp on the Sand Lake and enjoyed fishing while there. He was an avid walker and loved doing anything outdoors.

Surviving are his partner, Irene Daley; sisters, Inez Dykens, Canso; Sheila Driol, Calgary. Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by his brother, Winston; sister, Brenda Briggs; brothers-in-law, Kenny Dykens, Wally Driol and Roy Briggs.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service and burial will take place at a later date to be announced.
