He was the best-est! He was my mentor at MMW for the past 25 years, he taught me so much about metal fabrication and design. He had a hand in Claude getting a job at PHP a few years ago. My dad had the pleasure of working with him at the swing bridge and had breakfast with him at the big stop some mornings. Dad said "there will be a new set of steel gates in heaven by the end of the week".
I will miss you everyday.

I briefly knew Wayne when I was at Mulgrave Machine Works for a summer work term through NSCC. I had no practical experience in my field at the time and recieved a lot of flak for it, but Wayne was very patient and kind, and always helped me understand anything I needed to, no matter how simple or complex it was. He never made me feel like I didn't know what I was doing, which I appreciated so much.
He was very caring and regularly asked how my Aunt and Uncle were doing when my Aunt got sick. He always listened and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say.
I remember when he took me on a tour of the quarry one day when I mentioned I had never been there. He didn't have to do any of this but he did out of the kindness of his heart.
A big man with a big voice and a big heart. He will leave a big hole in the hearts if the people who knew him.

Wayne always made everyone he met feel welcome and accepted. I feel so privileged to have been able to spend the last 20 years getting to know and love him. Rocky and I and our children can only strive to carry on his legacy of kindness, compassion, strength and love in a way that will honour his memory. We will miss you forever, Wayne.

Big Wayne thank you for giving me childhood memories of hanging out at your house with Tanya. The cool bus in your back yard that we played in, the huge wall fish tank that entertained us in the basement and I will never forget the old brown Valour couch with the flowers on it that you and Diane gave me for my first move to Halifax. One particular side had a huge butt dent in it from it obviously being someone’s favourite spot to sit. I was proud of that couch. Rest easy big Wayne. You will be missed xo
