Googoo, Jonathan Joseph – Age 34 We’koqma’q First Nation, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side.
Born December 6th, 1988 at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital to Elizabeth and the late Stanley Googoo. Jonathan lived his life in We’koqma’q with his siblings; Darla (John), Natalie, Patricia (Stewart), Cory, Adrian (Jennifer) & Terry all of We’koqma’q, Aunts; Anna K. (Francis), Barbara, Bridgette, Muriel, Brenda, along with numerous nieces and nephews, Godfather; John Angus Googoo, and godchildren; Wayne Googoo-Prosper and Jacoby Prosper.
Jonathan was a fluent Mi’kmaw speaker. He was one of the most dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fans who would always take any opportunity to tease anyone who wasn’t a Leafs fan. Jonathan had a great sense of humor. One very unique thing about Jonathan was his 22 tattoos, he used this body as a canvas to express his love for the art and his devotion to his Catholic faith. He enjoyed taking trips with his brother, Cory when he was able to.
Jonathan is predeceased by his grandparents; Ellen Googoo (Sylliboy), Michael P. Googoo, Joseph and Mary Susan Prosper, and step-grandmother, Martha Prosper, brother; Sheldon Googoo Sr., uncles; John, Howard, Bernie, William, Alex R., Gabriel, Ryan, Donald, Henry, and Chief Wayne, aunts; Anna (Godmother), Jean, Geraldine and Germaine and a nephew; Sheldon Googoo Jr.
We would like to thank the staff of the Theresa Cremo Memorial Health Centre, Dr. Jamie Tribo, Dr. Ritter, and the team of Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Thank you for the continuous love and care that you have shown our son throughout the years.
