We always looked forward to hearing from Jessie at Christmas time. She was a wonderful artist and very talented. Loved to visit her with brother Neil and Margie, her sister. We always had lots of laughs. I have a beautiful quilt made by Jessie so I saw her many crafts upstairs.
Sincere sympathy to all Jessie’s family. She lived a wonderful life doing what she loved. May she fly with the angels.

Sincere condolences are sent to Peter and the family. Jessie was an amazing lady. We were so glad to hear from her when she would be calling Mary. Her talent for quilting and painting was amazing and we will treasure the painting she made for Mary. She was a very strong and determined lady. Rest Easy Jessie

Our sincere condolences to Peter and his family and to Jessie's extended family on her passing. If there ever was a woman who lived a full life and a life on her terms - it was Jessie.
Jessie was my grade six teacher at MacLean's Bridge school. She brought "industrial arts" to the one room school - we were encouraged to bring a coping saw to school and from there we made door stops( the image of the Dutch lady that we painted that was a part of these is still vivid in my mind, book ends, etc.
Jessie was a good friend of my mother - providing the wheels to do pre-Christmas shopping in Sydney, attend adult evening classes at Whycocomagh Consolidated School( most often instructed by Jessie herself), go to WMS meetings, etc. My mother was working on a quilt that never got finished before her passing - it was Jessie that took it to her home and finished it - a treasure now displayed on one of the guest beds in our home.
One of Jessie's paintings - the old wagon wheel leaning against a fence post with an expanse of water meets sky in the background with sea gulls flying overhead is on display in my summer home in River Denys.
Jessie was instrumental in getting the River Denys Trail Blazers hockey team up and running in our community. What didn't she do???
It has always been a priority of mine to pay Jessie a visit when I returned to River Denys for the summer - the last being July 2023. These visits and memories of Jessie I hold dear in my heart.

Gail and I looked forward to visiting with Aunt Jessie while we were down for the Summer. She will be sorely missed.
She is sitting on the right side of God now. Most likely giving him lessons in quilting!!
