Dad enjoyed carving and playing guitar, feeding his birds, walking on his woods trails with pockets of sunflower seeds for the chickadees and squirrels and was always handy at any repairs around the property.

Dad was in the Canadian Army in the early 1950’s.
On April 22, 1953 he joined the army, the Royal Canadian Signal Corps, and volunteered to fight in Korea.
Fortunately a peace agreement was reached before he finished training and he was able to serve his time (3 years) in Canada. He was in Kingston, Ontario… Camp Borden, Ontario…Wainwright, Alberta and Gagetown, New Brunswick.

Howard and I were born a week apart and we have known each other since we were children. We were both drawn to live in the community we knew and loved. Just recently he was able to help me identify our classmates from the early 1940’s! He will be missed for his energy, work ethic and great memory. My deepest condolences to Eileen and all the family.

Howard and I in our younger years shared rooms in several boarding houses and rooming houses we married sisters so we spent a lot of time together , never had any issues between us , he was my uncle , our age was close and we enjoyed our time . Besides living with him I used to spend Saturdays with him at his workplace as a body man at which he was Very Very good and well respected. He had many Professional and personal career accomplishments , an Auto Bodyman,,Machinest,Soldier even became a qualified Forrest Ranger . I agree that he was a very intelligent and talented man ,truly one of a kind. He would be very proud of the fine Obituary prepared by his family, he will be missed by all
