Obituary of Frank Edward Chandler
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Edward Chandler of Whycocomagh, who passed away on Monday September 11th, 2023, in the Inverary Manor, Inverness. Frank spent 57 years married to his loving wife Shirley Chandler, who passed just over a month before he did.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, hunting, fishing, or working in the woodpile. Frank spent many years working for the Department of Transportation. He loved visits from his family and spending quality time with his great-grandchildren. He also treasured his trips out west to see his children and grandchildren where he went on hunting and quadding trips.
Left to mourn are his children: Brenda (Sandy MacInnis), Troy; Carl (Rachel Mac Donald,) Dawson Creek; Kevin (Michelle Matthews), Dawson Creek; Connie (Daniel MacLean), Dawson Creek; grandchildren, Elisha (Michael Black), Chelcea (Dave Driscoll), Courtney MacInnis (James MacDonald), Ashton (Kelsey), Nathan (Hayley), Kaden Chandler, Landon (Fusha) and Sophie Chandler, Josie MacLean (Blain Crocker) and Bailey MacLean; great-grandchildren, Ainslee and Lauchie Black, Lexi and Darci Driscoll, Norah MacInnis, Isla and Frankie MacQuarrie, Connlley and Ronnie Crocker; siblings, Raymond (Anne), Harold, Melvin (Suzanne), Joey (Cheryl), Richard (Elizabeth), Gary (Nerissa); sisters, Glenna Chandler and Elsie Munro (Jerry); and his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Shirley, he is predeceased by his mother and father, Ruth and Raymond Chandler; brother, Ernie Chandler; sisters, Margaret Alice and Annie Mae who died in infancy; nephews, Roger and Joel Chandler; sisters-in-law, Anne Chandler, Elaine Campbell and Patsy MacDonald, and brother-in-law, Timmie Pearo.
The family would like to send their graditude to the staff at the Inverary Manor and Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital for their loving care over the last few years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 20th from 2pm – 8pm in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will take place Thursday September 21st at 11am from Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh with Rev. John Tapscott officiating. Burial to follow in the Stewartdale Cemetery.
