She was a sweetheart, always so kind to me especially when we both worked for Doucet, Andrea & Kelly back in the 70s. We only connected once in a great while but it was as if we had never been apart. Our deepest sympathy to Leigh’s family. Darlene treasured her daughter Leigh and her beautiful granddaughters. They adored her. I have very fond memories of Darlene and Elias with their beautiful Leigh attending mass so many years ago. So sorry to hear of Darlene's passing. She became part of our family many years ago when Bill married my mom. Darlene always treated mom in the kindest of ways, celebrating holidays and birthdays with her when we couldn't be there. Just a week before, we were texting about Mom. She was always concerned about her even though she wasn't well herself. Rest in peace Darlene

Darlene such a unique lady. I shared many happy times with Darlene and Elias in the early 1970’s and oh how she loved her little red convertible! She loved to host girl’s night out in her home in Port Hawkesbury! So much joy and cherished memories, Darlene will live in our hearts forever!

I am deeply saddened to read of the passing of Darlene, I knew Darlene before she was married and spent time chatting with her when we both had our baby at St. Martha's Hospital in July 1966 and I will undoubtedly miss our little chats on FB. My sincere condolences to Her husband, daughter, granddaughters, sister and families whom I know will miss her very much who she loved and always spoke highly of her family. I was so saddened to hear about Darlene’s passing on Saturday. I am sorry I didn’t make it down to see her last month. I thought I would have that time. I will miss my visits in port hood and exchanging of beach glass. I had 2 sisters named Darlene for the last 35 years. May you be free of pain and Rest In Peace.

I learned of Darlene's passing and was so very sorry to hear this news. The love she had for Greg, you, and your Dad, Darryl and your girls was indeed a testament to her spirit. It remains in my heart how she comforted me when my own mother passed in 1979 and the work she did...I never let it go and I had always told her how please and happy she made me feel.
