My sense of John Lester, loving, tender-hearted, sweet. He was all about love. Love for his family, his friends, animals. And a huge love for his community, his home.
Memory, I was sitting on the steps in Leo's kitchen. I was tying the shoelaces of my sneakers. Just the way he looked at that, with such interest!
