MacKinnon, Euphemia “Phemie”, 94,Blues Mills, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully at the Inverary Manor, Inverness, in the early hours of Sunday, March 5th, 2023 surrounded by family and caregivers. Born January 12th, 1929 to the late Peter and Tina (Dunbar) MacKay in Scotsville, Inverness County.

She was the fifth of nine children, and the last surviving member of her family. When both parents passed away, the young family was left to support each other, older members taking care of the younger ones. They learned to have a strong work ethic early, and Phemie maintained that work ethic throughout her life. Very independent, she lived in her home in Blues Mills until moving to Inverary Manor in October, 2021. Family was very important to her and she maintained contact with relatives throughout her long life. As she learned early, she always said to family" take care of each other, and be sure to get along".

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and father of her three children, Neil William MacDonald; her second husband, Ernest MacKinnon; daughter, Ann Cameron; son-in-law, Richard MacLennan; as well as brothers, Lauchie, Philip, John and Malcolm MacKay, and sisters, Cristie MacLean, Margaret MacKay, Violet MacRae, and baby Alice who died shortly after birth.

She lived at Ainslie Point until 1967 when she remarried and moved to Blues Mills. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Collins (Clifford) and family John Neil, Curtis (Kelly), Jason (Crystal) MacLennan and Karen (Carl) Ferguson; son, John Kay MacDonald (Nelly), and there family Derek (Marie), Allie (Dallas), Darren (Nicole) MacDonald; son-in-law, Alex Cameron and family Mark (Sally), Andy (Gill), Craig (Darlene), Kellie and Lisa Cameron, as well as great-grandchildren, Ethan , Liam , Nicholas, Jorden, Shelby, Brody, Ella, Quinn, Duncan, Mia, Edan, Carter, Lilly and Isla.
