Simpson, Sheri Lee MacDonald - 55, Blues Mills, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Sheri was born in Halifax on July 28th, 1967, she is the loving daughter of Jerry and Maggie Ward.
Sheri was predeceased by her greatest love, Keith Simpson. She is also predeceased by her biological father, John Neil Macdonald, and her father and mother-in-law, Douglas and Jenny Simpson.
Sheri will be deeply missed by her children, Zach, Whycocomagh and Kira (Riley) Halifax; her parents, Jerry and Maggie Ward (Soapstone Mines); sisters, Bev (Gordon Glen) Gillis, Skye Glen; Liza (Craig) Beddow, Blues Mills; extended family Juanita and Ivan MacInnis, Rhonda Simpson and Pat O’Brien; nieces and nephews, Thomas, Myla, Josh, Kayla, Samantha, Cassie, Conor, and Reilly. Numerous cousins, uncles and aunts, especially her Aunt Mima (Jemima Walsh) with whom she had a very special bond.
If you knew Sheri, you would know that Kira and Zach were the reasons her heart beat and the absolute light of her life. She had the biggest heart and brightest smile with that devilish grin. She was always up for a good chat. Sheri was always willing to lend a helping hand, no questions asked. Sheri showed strength and resilience throughout her life, all due to the love she shared with her family, which continued to the very end.

Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 in Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, with Rev. Rachel Campbell officiating. Burial to will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 11a.m. in Stewartdale Cemetery
