Obituary of Raymond Thomas Hendsbee

Hendsbee, Raymond Thomas – Halfway Cove, Guysborough County. It is with much sadness that we the family of Raymond Thomas Hendsbsee announce his passing at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Born June 29, 1949 in Halfway Cove.  He was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Clara (Greencorn) Hendsbee.

Raymond worked most of his life at fish plants in Mulgrave, Halifax and Canso.  He loved fishing and hunting.

Raymond is survived by his sons; John Thomas (Ruby) Hendsbee and Ronald P. Hendsbee, brothers; Douglas and Arnold, sisters; Evelyn MacDonald and Christina Bowie.  Raymond was predeceased by his parents, wife; Frances (Casey) Hendsbee; brothers, John, Lewis, Kenneth Jr., infant brothers, Percy and Leo; sister, Eva Claire Dalton; niece, Lisa Mae Dalton; sister-in-law, Victoria Hendsbee and brother-in-law, John A. MacDonald.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 13 in St. James Anglican Church, Halfway Cove, from where the funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, January 14 with Rev. Susan Slater officiating assisted by Vonda Carr. Burial in the church cemetery. Family flowers only please.
