Linda MacQuarrie, 73, Port Hawkesbury.

The family of Linda MacQuarrie, with great sorrow, announce her passing on Friday, December 30, 2022, in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, where her family kept vigil over her until she was called Home.

She leaves behind her children, Angela (Dave) Hunt, Port Hawkesbury; Lana (David) Meagher, Cole Harbour; Terry (Candace) MacQuarrie, Monastery; Nita Traxler, Missouri; Geoff (Ainslie) Muise, Halifax; and Robbie (Leanne) Campbell, Gardiner Mines. Her grandchildren, Sherrie (J.C), Bobby (Adele), David, Robyn, Danielle, Andrea (Rio), Keegan (Cass), Ewan, Sam, Taryn, Devin, Jonah, Willow and Liam. Her great-grandchildren, Tiyana, Makayah, RJ, Kyree, Bibby, Aiden, Kyra, Kael, Amie and Noah.

Also left to mourn are her surviving siblings and their spouses, who were always there for her, Robert MacQuarrie, Gordon (Tracy) MacQuarrie, Port Hawkesbury and Carol (Jacques) Sauve, Sackville, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by and gone on to have a cup of tea with her mother and father, Allan Dan and Levina MacQuarrie; her sister, Sadie Lewis and brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Beverly MacQuarrie, as well as her forever friends Jean Marie Deveaux and Faye Forgeron.

Mom worked hard, loved fiercely, made up her own rules and lived her life her way. She provided for her children with everything she had to give, no matter how difficult that was. She will be forever missed by friends and family.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for their kindness, compassion and care. A special thank you to Haley, who kept Mom laughing and raised her spirits even when she didn’t want you to.

As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held for the family Saturday, January 7, at the Evergreen Club in Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
