Obituary of Norah Cecelia Haywood

HAYWOOD, Norah Cecelia – Age 79, Manassette Lake, Guysborough Co., passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in Manassette Lake she was a daughter of the late Evans and Agatha (Diggins) Ehler. Norah enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching the birds from the window. She enjoyed doing the weekly Lexicon puzzle as well as crossword puzzles. She enjoyed listening to country music. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in St. Francis Harbour where she was a part of the Ladies Aide.

Surviving is her husband, Ross; sons, Frank (Lori), Rob; sister, Regina (Ian); brothers, Jack (Helen), Roddy (Diane), Gary (Lorraine), Maurice (Barb); Ted; grandchildren, Adam and Claire. She was predeceased by brothers, Pat, Keith, Kevin, Wayne, Dan, Terry; sister, Jean.

The family would like to thank at this time the doctors and nurses and staff of both the Guysborough Memorial Hospital and the Milford Haven Home for Special Care as well as the Personal Support Workers and Homecare Workers. Thank you to Dr. Ranjini for her care over the years and to Father Allan MacPhie for bringing communion to her over the years. Last but not least a special thank you to Lorraine Ehler for her care and compassion shown to Norah over the years, your kindness will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 15 from St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Francis Harbour with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
