Obituary of Hilda Mae Martell

 It is with profound sadness and regret that we announce the peaceful passing of our precious mother Hilda Mae Martell, age 92 of St. Peter’s.  She passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Born in L’Ardoise on May 26, 1930 she was a daughter of the late James and Eliza Sampson.

Mom worked as a cook at the Richmond Villa Nursing Home in St. Peter’s for many years until her retirement.

Hilda is survived by her daughters and caregiver; Carla, St. Peter’s, Glenda (Peter) Hampson, Eastern Passage and Marsha (Tim) Owens, Langley, BC.  Grandchildren; Mitchell, Brandon, Taylor and Cailley, whom she adored.  Hilda was predeceased by her husband; Lawrence, Grandson; Jordan, brothers; Alonzo, Ephrium and sister; Edna.

As per Mom’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral.  Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, St. Peter’s.  Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
