Obituary of Rilla Grace McLean

McLEAN (Tapley), Rilla Grace - The passing of Rilla Grace (Tapley) McLean occured on Friday, November 4, 2022, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, NS. Born in Grand Falls, NB, on December 12, 1944 to the late Edward and Glenda (Johnson) Tapley of Maple View, NB.

Rilla was the beloved wife of the late James (H.) McLean (deceased October 2010). Rilla leaves behind two sisters, Joan (Tapley) Cass, Vancouver, BC; Shirley C. Tapley, Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law, David Cass; nephew, Stephen; niece, Jennifer, all of Vancouver. Also her extended family, Mavis, Gerald, Cora, Robert (deceased 1967), James, Marilyn, Donald. She will be missed by many cousins and friends in NB, NS and beyond.

A special thank you to her faithful attendants/caregivers, whose love and caring allowed Rilla to remain in her own home for several extra years.

Rilla graduated from Teacher's College in Fredericton, NB in 1964 and received her BA of teaching and BA of Education from the University of New Brunswick. She was very involved with St. Mark's United Church and numerous projects, festivities and celebrations in the wider community.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022 at St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Barbara MacNaughton officiating.
