Hazel Hart Lowe passed away peacefully Saturday, December 6, 2003, at home in Dartmouth.
Born in Port Shoreham, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Maude (Hadley) Hart. She was a member of St. James United Church, Dartmouth. In her younger years, Hazel taught school in various communities of Guysborough Co. In 1952, she moved to Halifax and worked for the Department of National Defense for 26 years. Not content to be out of the work force, she took a job at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. When she wasn't working, she faithfully visited the sick and elderly.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Allister Lowe, Dartmouth; brother, Clayton (Rose), Port Shoreham; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Bertha Hadley.
Visitation was held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. today in Bolyston United Church, Rev. Leonard Oracheski officiating.
