Patrick Xavier Levangie,103, Frankville, Antigonish Co. died peacefully, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Monday Dec.29, 2003.
Born in Frankville on Nov. 7, 1900 he was a son of the late Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Levangie) Levangie. He was a farmer, carpenter and a member of St. Paul's Parish, Havre Boucher He lived a full and active 103 years, enjoying life with his card playing and bingo friends, his wife Anna and children whom he loved dearly. He passed on to his family, a guiding light to God and heaven, through his astounding faith and patience which radiated from him. A little saying he often recited was: Where there is faith, there is love. Where there is love, there is peace. Where there is peace, there is God. Where there is God, there is no need.
He will be sadly missed by his loved ones, foremost his dear and loving wife of 68 years, Anna, his daughters Patricia Josey, Dartmouth; Paula(Paul) Breen, Frankville; Marion(Lloyd) DeWolfe, Halifax; Dianne(Giles) Gaudett, Shad Bay; Janice(Donnie) Tobin, Bridgewater; sons Peter(Janet) Lower. Sackville; Curtis(Joan) Porters Lake; Stanton(Monica) Frankville; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by son Ambrose, grandsons, Patrick Levangie, Brian Josey, granddaughter Cheryl Ann Breen, 3 sisters, 9 brothers.
Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 Wednesday and 2-4 & 7-9 Thursday at St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher. Funeral mass 11 am Friday, Jan 2 in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church Havre Boucher, Father Alex MacLellan officiating, interment in the parish cemetery.
