Munroe, Franklin Patrick – December 21, 1941 – September 9, 2022 It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the passing of Franklin Patrick Munroe, age 80 of Little Dover, NS on Friday, September 9, 2022 at VG Hospital, Halifax with his family by his side. Born in Little Dover, NS, he was the son of the late Daniel and Annie (Harnish) Munroe. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Genesta (Bouchie) Munroe, sons; Jeffery Munroe, Norman (Tara) Munroe both of Little Dover, Patrick (Amanda) Munroe, Lower Sackville and daughter; Stella (Stephen), Halifax and grandchildren; Adele, Eva, Brandon and Justin Munroe. Frank is also survived by brothers; Ernie and Lawrence and sister; Valeria (Martin) Bouchie. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers; Alonzo, Kenneth, Garfield, Thomas, Lloyd, Lauchie and sisters; Ada, Marie and one in infancy. Frank was a dedicated member of the Little Dover Volunteer Fire Department, St. Agnes choir, Canso Lions Club and the Little Dover Community Development Association. He was also the manager of the Little Dover Co-op and then retired as the maintenance Technician at the Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. He loved to go in the boat and to the hut, he enjoyed gardening and wood working crafts, especially Christmas crafts that are still all over the community today. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 2 – 8p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in Franks memory may be made to St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover.
