McTIERNAN, Debra Irene 'Debbie' - 49. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Irene 'Debbie' (MacKay) McTiernan, of Loggieville, N.B., formerly of Orangedale, Cape Breton, on Saturday, October 15, 2005, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer, in Miramichi Regional Hospital, Miramichi, N.B. Born in Kingston, Ont., Debra was the daughter of Shirley (Sutherland) MacKay of Orangedale, Cape Breton and the late Charles MacKay. She is survived by her husband, Robert 'Bob' McTiernan; sons, Liam, Fredericton, N.B., and Devin, at home; daughter, Katherine 'Katie', at home; brothers, Sandy (Joanne), Orangedale; Scott (Lynn), Auld's Cove; sisters, Shelley (Dave) MacDonald, Baddeck; Lori-Ann MacKay (Aaron Billard), Moncton, N.B.; grandmother, Florence Whalen, Orangedale; many aunts and uncles; two nieces and one nephew, and many wonderful friends and neighbours in Miramichi City. Debbie was a mother who instilled values in her three wonderful children and related to all how blessed she was to have them. Her faith and love of each new day gave her strength. Her grace and compassion will always give us hope.
