Watts, Hadley Joseph – 34. It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Hadley Joseph Watts, of Victoria, BC, formerly of Port Hood, on Monday, September 22, 2014. Born in Antigonish on December 27, 1979, he was the son of LG and the late Bernadette Watts. Hadley grew up on Marble Hill and enjoyed a childhood filled with riding bikes, exploring the land and the shore at Millbrook below his house, and playing games of pond hockey, baseball, and road hockey with his brothers and cousins. He loved animals and the outdoors, helping on the family farm and spending time on the water. After moving away for work, he always returned home for a visit each lobster season. He was a graduate of St. FX University and was employed as a Directional Driller in Alberta. In addition to his father, he is survived by his brothers, Wilfred and Brennan, both of Port Hood; uncle, Robbie Watts (Betty), Port Hood (cousins Joanne, Roberta, Hugh (Sarah)); aunt, Annette MacLean (Raymond), Howie Centre (cousins Jennifer, Kenna); aunt, Rose MacKinnon (Adrian), Alberta (cousins Jennifer, Shannon (Ken), Kim); girlfriend, Sharone Thoms; and an extended family of friends from school years and with whom he worked. Visitation for the late Hadley Watts will be held Friday, September 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in Port Hood and Area Resting Place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Hood on Saturday, September 27 at 2 p.m., with Father Vincent van Zutphen officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in honour of his parents, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements under care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
