SLATER, Lena Isabel - 90, Port Hawkesbury, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late George and Agnes (Carmichael) MacKenzie. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury and the U.C.W. She is survived by daughters, Joan (Mike) Forbrigger, Port Hawkesbury; Gail (Michael) Zareski, Dartmouth; son, Greg (Francie), Whitby, Ont.; grandchildren, Wendy, David, Michelle, William, Alison and Bradley; great-granddaughter, Meghan; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Henry; brothers, George, Fraser and Nelson. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday in St. Mark's United Church, Rev. Wilfred Pelley officiating. Burial will be in Southbrook Cemetery.
