Snow, Bertha Christina - 83, Canso, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, on February 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Rhynold her mother passed away when she was a baby and she was raised by her grandmother, Margaret Greencorn. Bertha was a homemaker and a mother to the community. She is survived by her children, Laura (Doug Rose), Canso; Maxine (Paul White), Halifax; George (Dulcie), Wayne, both of Canso; Ron (Pam), Dartmouth; son-in-law, Clifford Gould, Canso; grandchildren, Shaun (Alicia), Dartmouth; Richard (Danielle), Calgary, Alberta; Matthew (Sheri), Michael (girlfriend Mandy), both of Dartmouth; Stephanie, Dryden, Ontario; Shannon, Kentville and Carter, Canso; great-grandchildren, Rae-Lea, Connor, Xander all of Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellsworth "Ellie" Snow, daughter, Nina Gould, son, John and brother, Percy Rhynold. Visitation will be held Monday, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m. from Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in Bertha’s memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
