Godfrey Edward Richard Obituary
RICHARD, Godfrey Edward - 92, Hureauville, Richmond Co., passed away peacefully Friday, April 14, 2006, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Cape Auget, Richmond Co., he was a son of the late Henry and Mary Ann (Goyetche) Richard. He retired from A.E.C.L. Point Tupper in 1979. He also worked for the CNR for over 30 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants. He is survived by sons, James (Bernice), Hureauville; Leo (Cathy), Louisdale; Paul, at home; daughters, Gladys (Roger) Feener, Dartmouth; Rose Marie (Jack) Goyetche, Arichat; Evelyn (Dave) Sartor, Victoria, B.C.; sister, Mary C. Cogswell, Princeville; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by wife, Mae (LeBlanc); sisters, Eva, Bertha, Janie Louise, Julia, and one in infancy; brothers, William, Phillip, Alexander. Also left to mourn is special friend, Mabel Baker. Visitation today 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held today at 2 p.m. in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants, Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Godfrey to the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Fund or Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society.
