ROUSE, Gordon James - 67, Big Marsh Road, Inverness Co. It is with great sorrow and heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Gordon passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at home. He was born on June 7, 1942, at home in Big Marsh Road. He was a son of the late Harry and Kathleen (Large) Rouse. Gordon was full of fun and lived life to the fullest; he was great at wood- working, making lots of woodcrafts for many family and friends. He was well-known for his nickname "Toodie". He worked as a woodsman, he worked on the mail run to Truro, and he operated a tree farmer and a backhoe. He worked for Sam Pearo Carpentry; he also worked at the Heavy Water Plant, the Gulf Oil Refinery and the Department of Transportation until his retirement. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane (Pearo); sons, Dr. Sammy James (Lynne), Paradise, N.L.; Robbie (Charlene), Big Marsh Road; daughter, Jackie, Baddeck; his little angel, grandson, Aidan; sister, Wilena Ryan, Port Hawkesbury; brother, Edward (Faye) Kewstoke; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and nephews and all extended Rouse, Pearo and Matthews families and many friends and neighbours. He will be missed by his companions, Bailey, Sarah and Annie. He was predeceased by son, Brian Keith (at birth); twin granddaughters; his father and mother; brother, Allie; sister-in-law, Shirley; sister-in-law, Elaine Campbell; brother-in-law, Gary Ellis; brother-in-law, Freddie Ryan; father-in-law, Samuel James Pearo; mother-in-law, Margaret Alice Pearo. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in River Denys Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lloyd Murdock officiating. Burial in Upper River Denys Cemetery.
