MacQUARRIE, Beverly Yvonne - 55, Port Hawkesbury. It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family announce the death of Bev MacQuarrie which occurred Monday, February 16, 2004, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of Ruth C. (Reynolds) Embree, Port Hawkesbury, and the late Freeman C. Embree. She was a waitress employed with the Skye Dining Room, Port Hastings. A member of St. Joseph's Parish, Port Hawkesbury, an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Thomas 'Tommy'; daughters, Dana (Marius) Zorogolé, Halifax; Tanya (John) Facey, Kitchener, Ont.; son, Travis, at home; sisters, Mary (Dave) Gowers, Port Hastings; Brenda (Doug) Pratt, Grand Prairie, Alta.; Darlene Boudreau, Kitchener, Ont.; Adelene Pratt, Port Hawkesbury; Alanna Embree, Kitchener, Ont.; Marie (John) LeFlambois, Cornwall, Ont.; Pearl Embree, Calgary; brothers, Kevin (Sharon), Brian (Joan), Freeman, Wilson (Mary), all of Port Hawkesbury; Gordon (Frances), Peter (Jean), both of Port Hastings; Kelly, Arichat; grandchildren, Lucas, Zelyka, Reese, Aliya. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Dana; brothers, Jimmy, Bert; sisters, Irene, Kaye, Ruth, Margaret. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, with Associate Member Legion service at 7 p.m. and vigil service at 8:30 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Father Hughie D. MacDonald officiating, assisted by Father Bill Crispo. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to the Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
