MacPHAIL, Alastair Urquhart - 89, Marble Mountain, died Friday, October 1, 2004, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Dominion, he was a son of the late Alexander W. and Margaret (Palmer) MacPhail. He was an electrician, employed in Halifax for a number of years. He returned home to Marble Mountain to operate Hillbrook Farm. He retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation, Big Brook. He was a member of St. Matthew's United Church, Marble Mountain and Sircom Masonic Lodge No. 66, Whycocomagh.
He is survived by his wife, the former Isabelle Cameron; daughters, Heather Raeburn, Burnaby, B.C.; Helen (Mike) Sims, Qualicum Beach, B.C.; Rachel (Jim) Barns, Bonnyville, Alta.; son, Donald (Kim), Airdrie, Alta.; grandchildren, Everett (Sue) Raeburn, Vancouver, B.C.; Alastair (Anilee), Vancouver; Julianna (Ken), New York; Alastair, Calgary, Alta.; Sara, Airdrie, Alta.; Alan Sims, Qualicum Beach, B.C.; Sean and Ryan Anthony; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Christene MacPherson; sister, Mabel; brother, Stuart and Richard, in infancy.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, with Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in St. Matthew's United Church, Rev. Fraser MacDonald officiating. Burial in Lime Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
