SIMPSON, Franklin John Blain "Frank"- 66, Mulgrave, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Frank was born October 13, 1943, in Little Shemogue, N.B., he was a son of the late Harris William and Annie Belle (Dulenty) Simpson. Frank worked for a number of wears in the pulp business in Cape Breton before coming to work for Bob Reid's Machine Shop in Mulgrave as a welder. After leaving the machine shop, he worked for Shell Oil Offshore until he moved to North Western Ontario to work for American Can of Canada as a welder, and worked security for several mining companies. Frank and his family moved back to Mulgrave in 1992 at which time he worked for several companies ending his working career as an employee for the Town of Mulgrave. Frank was very devoted to his church, not only as a member of Trinity United Church but also serving on the Board of Stewards and the Cemetery Committee. Frank was always ready to lend a hand wherever he was needed. He was always ready to help the UCW peel vegetables for their suppers. His kindness will be missed by many.
He will always be remembered and missed by his family and friends. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Juanita (Spencer); daughter, Audrey (Bob) Johnston, Eastern Passage; sons, Joseph, James, and William, all of Mulgrave; sister, Faye Straight, Murray's Corner, N.B.; brothers, Joe, David (Rowena) and Grayden (Judy), all of Murray's Corner, N.B. ; sisters -in-law, Jenny Simpson, Orangedale; Ruth (Joe) MacEachern, Mulgrave; brothers-in-law, James (Margie), Ronald (Nancy), both of Mulgrave; Douglas (Nora) , Truro. He also leaves to mourn grandchildren, Alexis, Brianne and Johnathan, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, three brothers, four sisters and two siblings in infancy.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 pm., Friday and Saturday in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, in Trinity United Church, Mulgrave, with Rev. James Chisholm officiating. Burial in Trinity United Church Cemetery. Donations in memory of Frank may be made to Trinity United Church, Mulgrave and Area Resting Place or Canadian Cancer Society.
