SAMPSON, Bernard Vincent – 74, Little Dover, Guysborough Co., passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Little Dover, he was a son of the late Michael Clifford and Lillian Jane (Boudreau) Sampson.
He was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover, also a former member of the Canso Lions Club and past member of the Little Dover Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and sharing stories and many laughs with whomever visited.
Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Cecile (David); daughters, Angela (John) Dobson, Half Island Cove; Sherry (Darrin) Jackson, Antigonish; son, Jason (Nicole), Antigonish; sister, Clarissa Hilicker, Detroit; grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Abbigail, Shane and Ryan. He was predeceased by brothers, Ellsworth, Danny and Percy; sisters, Dorothy, Marguerita, Kathleen and Ida.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover, with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Parish or to Eastern Memorial Hospital Foundation. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
